D-I-V-O-R-C-E!!!!

Okay, Hill is here but she is typing a paper on our home computer so I have a minute to blog. I cannot tell you how happy I am! The quickie Mexican divorce did not work out (you were right all along, Gigi!). I spoke to the attorney across the border once a couple of months ago, and it all seemed legit. Since that initial conversation I have tried repeatedly to contact him, but to no avail. I felt defeated, and as I have many times before began to think this divorce was never going to happen.
My mom is a receptionist for a family practitioner here, and she discovered that one of the patients there is a divorce lawyer. When MaryAnne was in the doctor's office last week my mom talked to her about my situation. She said to make an appointment and she would waive the consultation fee. We went to see her Tuesday, and she was amazing! She normally charges a $5,000 retainer fee and she wants the cash up front, but she is not going to charge me a dime! She was in my situation once, and every year she takes on 2 cases like mine and handles them free of charge. I am so happy! The best divorce lawyers for women like me are women who have been through the same thing and feel your pain. Every time they stick it to a dead-beat dad who dumped his wife, it's a little bit of restitution for what they went through with their own loser ex-husbands. It looks like it's finally going to happen and I am walking on a cloud!
We are really enjoying having Frank, Hill, and Darby here. Darby keeps getting into my closet and putting on my shoes. She loves shoes. She wears them all over the house. Her hair is getting long and curly in the back, but there still isn't much up top. Earlier today she handed me a hair elastic and wanted me to put it in her hair. I took her little mullet and tied it up in the elastic. She looked like a little colonial man, with short hair on top and the longer hair in a pony tail. It was super funny! She is such a delight and except for her coloring (which is just like Frank's) she looks so much like Hillary at that age.

I think that it is really funny how exciting a divorce can be sometimes. I tried to call you the other day but you were out with the mom. I will try again. I love you.

I'm so excited for you. You need to come out here and visit... I'll find a handsome, rich, charming man; after all I found one for myself (at least the handsome part, sometimes I have to remind him to be charming and I've given up on rich...)
