When little Tootie Frances goes to bed at night she absolutely has to say "goodnight, sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite! If they do, take a shoe and beat them 'til they're black and blue!" Tonight was no exception. After she has said it to me, I am expected to say it in return. Tonight she grew thoughtful for a moment and then asked "mommy, there's no such thing as bed bugs, right?" I made the mistake of telling her that yes, there really are bed bugs. Silly, silly Aramie. I put her to bed 2 hours ago and she only just fell asleep! We had to have a long discussion about how as long as we keep our beds nice and clean, and change the sheets regularly we will not have bed bugs. This still didn't satisfy her, so I told her that only dirty beds in dirty old shacks have bed bugs! She seemed content with that answer.
Do any of you like the smell of lavender? I love it! It's not for everyone though. It does have a somewhat medicinal smell. At work we are still in the throws of the semi-annual sale, and I found a couple of bottles of discontinued Lavender Aromatherapy lotion for super cheap. I put it on my hands when I get into bed at night and I can't stop smelling them! Kacey loves it too. She calls it sleepy lotion.
Hope all of the daddies out there had a very happy Father's Day (especially mine)!

Bed bugs scare me too and I absolutly love lavender.
That is funny you mention that. I have an Architect that I work with, that just payed an allergist to stick him with everything possible to determine what was triggering his allergies and he told me the dr. told him, that sometimes bed bugs already come in new mattresses!! And our dander is obviously what feeds them. That is why is so important for those with allergies to enclose their mattresses in a zip up plastic allergy bag. That way you are sure to not feed their appetite!! Yikes.
Yuck, all the talk about bed bug is makeing me itch!~ It never fails to amazes me what kids will pick up on. Sounds like you handled it great.
Sorry for some stupid reason I posted the same comment 3 times. I must have thought it important or something.
LOL.......My mom makes me laugh! Anyway........Tasha.......your comment greatly disturbs me!!!!! A new mattress can have them???? GROSS!!! I'm going to pretend that you are wrong for my own mental health!
That's probably best!!
Kacey is such a thinker, I just love it!
