Okay, I have 30 minutes to write this post and comment on all of my friends blogs. I am trying to limit my computer time because it is taking over my life, and if you could see my house right now you would be completely horrified. Remember how messy my room was when I was a kid? Well that is pretty much what my room looks like right now and I can't take it anymore! Cleanliness is next to Godliness, and Aramie is going to HELL!!!!!
One of my favorite books/movies is Fried Green Tomatoes (at the Whistle Stop Cafe). I am especially fond of the word "Towanda" as a result. In fact, I have that word typed out in big letters and taped to the walls of my room here and there. It's just a little reminder to me not to take anyone's crap and to be confident in myself and my abilities. When I'm working out and I feel like I am going to drop, I shout out "Towanda!" to keep myself going, and yes, it works. I seriously want to get vanity plates on my car that say Towanda. I wonder how much that costs...
Now here is another glimpse into the recesses of my dark mind. I am about to tell you something that may send you into gales of laughter, so brace yourselves. I LOVE Michael Bolton. I have loved him since I was 11-years old. You know how on American Idol the contestants sometimes sing with famous people, like the season when Kat McPhee sang with Meatloaf (barf)? I always dreamed that if I were on American Idol I would get to sing with Michael. One of my favorite songs is Soul Provider. The reason I am writing this information is because a few days ago I saw on Yahoo that Michael was among the "most annoying singers of all time." What a load! Celine Dion was there too, and I know that there are Celine fans among you all! I am one. So to you out there who feel the same as me I say, lovers of easy-listening, UNITE!

Have you heard him do 'when a man loves a woman'? That just knocks my socks off. I was going to say that I am not a fan of easy listening, but that would be a lie.
Hi, my name is Amanda and I like easy listening. It's time for me to acknowledge it.
Love you, Celine!!
I love Fried Green Tomatoes...I love "Towanda"...thanks for the great reminder that I can do/be whatever I want. I personally think of the Biggest Loser when I'm working out...I think, if they can do it, I can do it to!
And yes, I listen to Delilah (did I spell her name right?) every evening that I find myself driving in the car...she's the best and always has just the right song for the moment!
I like easy listening, but I draw the line at MB. The only song I can listen to of his is "Love is a Wonderful Thing." He was in concert over at Wild Adventures a few years ago and my wife went to see him with a friend while I took the kids around the park. She said he became real annoying because he started singing all these arias. What ever ... I do like Celine, though ... just get a little worried for her when she starts hitting her chest! Last but not least, I don't judge you for your love of MB ... I really like the Jets and have taken a lot of heat for that over the years. Rock on! or rather Easy Listening on!
I love that movie too and don't worry I'll save you a seat in Hell!!! LOL About the whole MB and Celine thing.....I love Celine and I like MB. I like easy listening and like Tara, I try and catch Dililah on in the evenings if I'm out and about, but I still love my country too!!
I like MB in fact I may have introduced you to him. I don't want to be vilified but I don't like CD. The "Titanic" theme song pushed me over the CD edge. I like easy listening, rock, show tunes, and a bit of country, mustn't forget the MoTab. I love Van Morrison. I'm with you BFC and the Jets.Any one ever heard of Rick Astly (sp). I am closet fan of his 3 hits back in the 80's. I'm never gonna give him up, never gonna let him down... Sorry but I can't stand Delilah. Now don't be hating!!
Well, let me see...
I'm just at a loss for words.
Rick Astley??? Like, I can't believe that anyone on earth even remembered that he existed. That's the funniest thing I've seen in a long time. He was the man!! Cindy, you could do a whole blog about music that everyone, except you, forgot about.
I meant to say something about "Fried Green Tomatoes ..." I liked the book too ... much better than the movie. Have you ever read her book "Daisy Fay and the Miracle Man?" That is one of my all time favorite books. I laugh out loud when I read that book. I gave that book to Gigi and she's a big fan too ... I think we like kookie southern characters ... they are very easy for us to identify with. I remember when Fanny Flagg used to a regular on Match Game and I always liked her cause I thought she was funny, but my mom didn't like her cause she thought she was too risque. I've seen old Match Game episodes on the Game Show Network and I'd have to say my Mom was probably right, she's still funny!
