I don't know when it was exactly, but somewhere along the line I started calling Kacey Tootie Francis. She thinks it's funny. Tootie Francis and I had a rough day today. She has become very defiant and often tells me "no" when I ask her to do things. That, or she will just completely ignore me. I have to interject here that I am a believer in spanking. There are those who don't believe in it, and that's fine. To each his own. I don't have to resort to spanking very often though because making her sit on her bed for 5 minutes is the absolute worst punishment I could ever inflict on her! The first time I had to punish her today I told her to go downstairs and sit on the bed for 5 minutes. She was crying and carrying on, and as she stomped down the stair she shouted out "it's a difficult responsibility being me!" Later tonight she got in trouble again and she said "it's so hard to be a little girl! I'm just tiny!" I have a little notebook where I jot down the funny little things she says.
I had parent/teacher conference today with her teachers. They seem very pleased with her progress. I know she's a bright little gal, but it's always nice to have it validated by someone else. I'm very proud of her.
I found another new favorite today. I was buying a new work shirt at The Gap and my lips were super chapped. I am a connoisseur of lip balm. I have so many tubes lying all over the place. I like Lip Smackers Bubble Gum flavored balm, and of course there's always the ever delightful Burt's Bees. Around Christmas I bought a Gap lip balm that was Cranberry flavored, and it was fabulous. It's not too slick like some, nor is it too goopy. Perfect consistency, and it has SPF in it too. Well, today I bought Blackberry flavored balm and it is fantastic! They have several flavors to choose from, but blackberry is a definite winner. Speaking of the Gap, does anyone remember the scent they used to carry called "Pink?" It is still one of my very favorites. It has a grapefruity, light scent. I love Grapefruit-scented things! While I'm on the subject of scents, let's talk about perfume....
What is your favorite perfume? I have worn Heavenly by Victoria's Secret for many, many years. I decided this year to find a different scent for a change of pace. For Christmas I got "Daisy" by Marc Jacobs. It is beautiful. Another favorite is "Lovely" by Sarah Jessica Parker. It is different than most perfumes I like. It smells a bit like cologne, but sweeter and softer. I find myself wearing this one more than any other these days. In my old age I have developed a sensitivity to heavy, musky perfumes. They give me a major headache. There is a scent at work called Moonlight Path and it is one of these. Barf! It's very popular with older women though.
Geez, I'm even boring myself with this post! I haven't been feeling well for a few days. My allergies are really bad right now. I will try to be more entertaining next time.

I'm a big fan of Pink by Victoria's Secret. Love it. I also enjoy Miracle by Lancome. They might not even make that one anymore. I don't ever wear anything, really. Mostly, I just go with the baby vomit and pooey diaper. It seems to work well for me so why change?
I got no advice for the whole Kacey thing. I think it is an age. I am glad to hear there is someone out there that is still spanking.
I spank, and got spanked. Usually mine is just a quick pop on the hand or bum. I think it helps. I really don't go for big beatings. I think those are wrong and you could handle that another way.
Shelby is going thru that right now. She says "No" to everyone and thing. I'm going to do a post on her soon.
I'm so alergic to perfums that I've stayed with Eternity for years because I know it doesn't bother me.
I haven't worn perfume for years, so I don't even know what smells good anymore. I usually just put on lotion from Bath and Body Works (your favorite place) and even then, that is rare. I just don't have much time for "me" these days. Once you have kids I find that you just have to hurry and get ready. That means the lotion is out, it just takes too long. LOL
About Kacey, I have no clue what to tell you! I just pray every night that the second coming will come before my boys hit their teenage years. Because even though you think Kacey is a bit snippity right now....from what I hear it only gets worse. So just pray with me!!!! :)
About spanking.....I can't believe you would touch your child like that!!! LOLOLOLOLOLOL Just kidding.....I have to whoop my little 'Aisea's butt too, but like you I do try other things first (sometimes). Just depends on my mood! LOL
you've been tagged...check out my blog!
I'm a fan of Roots, I bought it at Target (I'm not white trash) but I love the light smell, I get compliments everytime I wear it.
My parents made a hobby punishments for their innocent children. My penmanship is excellent from the hundreds (literally) of times I've written "I will not hit my brother" "I will not tattle" "I will pick up my clothes" "I will not talk back"
I'm also very strong from the cement blocks my folks made my siblings and I move from one end of the yard to another.
And I have a great relationship with my brothers and sister from having to muck out the chicken coop, pull weeds, fold clothes and any other chore that we were made to do when we fought. The kicker was that we had to hold hands while we completed the chore.
We need to get Kacey on a farm, that will straighten her out :)
I love pink too, I actually just ran out of it and haven't been able to find it again. My favorites at the moment are Green Apple by DNKY and Tommy Hillfiger (for women - I don't know the name of it).
You are so good at keeping your posts current. I love learning about you and Kacey. You are a great gal Aramie, I only wish it hasn't been almost 10 years since I have seen you or Hil.
So you're a mean mom, too? My little sassypants told me today that I was ruining her life. (I threw away a bunch of crap that she was hoarding--the kid will be on Oprah in about 20 years because she'll have so much crap she won't be able to leave her house.) The girl is only SIX--our life will be hell in 6 years. I can already feel it.
I call Gracie, Gracie Lou or Monkey. If you ever flew on an airplane with her or tried to pick her up when she did not want you to, you would understand the Monkey reference. I wear Men's Degree Power deodorant, that is the fragrance I prefer. I also wear Egyptian Cotton linen spray (I think that is what heaven smells like). But, If we were talking Bath and Body works, I would have to say I love white cherry blossom. I had to just go to my bathroom twice to remember what it is called.
My favorite perfume for the past year has been STELLA by Stella McCartney. I always forget to put on scent in the morning so i purchased the .33 fl. oz. travel roll-on bottle from sephora so I am able to keep it in my purse. It might not be for some, but for some reason i am drawn to it.
There is this lady at work and she wears this very expensive musk and to me she smells like a wet dog. I always try to breathe through my mouth when she walks by.
I'm with you on the spanking thing ... it doesn't happen often in our house, but it needs to be their as an option.
Glad you liked the cookie recipe.
That's funny, I forgot about F. F. being in Grease.
'Romance' by Ralph Lauren is the best! I also enjoy 'Ralph' by Ralph Lauren and 'White Linen' by Estee Lauder. Check 'em out! About the kid thing- good luck?!? You just remember what everyone else says to you so you can tell me all about when that time comes! I'm having a hard time concentrating right now- I still cant get over the dance story I just read:) You know, I was never really beat as a kid because I was the only good child, but when we did get into trouble, we had to pick out our own switch. That burnt... no fun!
Oh yeah, and I love tootie! My great grandmother has called my mom that her entire life, thus, for as long as I have known. My mom's name is Susie, so when I was young, I used to think that my great g-ma had lost it and was calling her Tootie instead of Susie! She didn't have any teeth, she was old,so hey, what do I know?!
