Back in the saddle again!

Today was my first day back at Bath & Body Works, and it was great. I always enjoyed working there (until the Christmas season), and it was fun to be back. They hired another girl when they rehired me, and she turned out to be someone from my linguistics class. We get along very well and had a lot of laughs. One thing that Bath & Body Works is big on is doing "demos" on people. Basically you approach a person with your favorite lotion, or whatever you have been told to demo, and ask if they would like to try it. Then you massage their hand with it while explaining the benefits, etc. We are supposed to demo on every person who comes through the door. My experience is that a massage is something a loved one gives you or you pay a professional to give you. It is very awkward to ask a complete stranger if she would like a massage! It is even more awkward when she looks at you awkwardly, then awkwardly replies "uh, I guess." You almost don't want to look her in the eye, or you feel like you need to apologize and explain that you are being watched and if you don't offer you will be reprimanded. People like their personal space. They don't want you in it. I know- I'm one of those people.
The strawberry pie was really good. Everyone loved it. I would highly recommend using the shortbread crust. It was fabulous! Kacey did like it, but she only wanted to eat the strawberries. Fear not- I didn't let the crust go to waste. I ate it. It was good.

That is funny. By the way you should go back to my blog on the shoes. Read the comment above yours and then read your comment one more time.

We just went in B&BW recently and I didn't get a message. I will have to go back and complain! J/K I would feel odd if someone approached me for a massage. I usually like to smell all of the lotions and then try my favorite on so I can smell it the rest of the day to tell if I like it and if it is worth buying. The massage would mess up my plan.

Well Aramie, Merrill and i do share the same birthday. We are like Erin and Katie except we are exactly 1 year apart. Pretty impressive on mom's part!

So my life... I am living a broke life in Atlanta these days, but it seems like almost everyone I know is. We are starting to think college was a bad idea. I think i would rather have no debt and make very little than to have a decent job and have a ton of debt. But hey, that's probably more than you cared to know! But really, Tracy and i are doing really good. I am a commercial interior designer for an architectural firm and Tracy is a kitchen manager for a very busy seafood restaurant. We have a 6 year old bassett hound that we have had since he was 5 weeks and that is pretty much our life. OBTW, your little girl is PRECIOUS! So how have you been these days? How is Hillary?

I go for a massage andy day but not one from the B&B Works girls. For that reason alon I wouldn't go in. When I go shopping I don't like pushy sales people unless I ask for their help! Glad it feels good to go back to work. Have a great day.

I mean if you don't want bothered you could always say no thanks. right.

I always say no thanks and go about my business. B&B is one of my favorite places. I love the hand soap for the sink.

I am feeling uncomfortable for you. I asked a lot of people to do a lot of pushy things when I worked at GAP but I never once asked anyone to give a total stranger a hand massage. Eeeww. I'm sorry that you have to do that. Do you wash the total strangers hand first? Double EEEWWW.
Also, if you haven't been back to check out the comments section on Rachael's blog, you should do that soon. HILARIOUS!!

I would go work there again too. It's as enjoyable as a job can be I guess. I always hated giving "the massage" too. It seemed that I always go stuck at the door with my only job for the day being just that!! Looking back....they must have hated me. I was NEVER allowed to touch the cash register!
