For my museum studies class we are each choosing an artist, a theme, or something of historical significance to put together a make-believe art exhibit on. We do all the work a museum curator would do for a real exhibit, but we will present the work in class in a power point presentation.
I decided to use the work of artist Jenny Hart. Her medium of choice is embroidery. Jenny owns a company called Sublime Stitching. I bought several patterns from her site because they are fresh and creative, and has her slogan goes "this ain't your gramma's embroidery."
In addition to selling patterns, books, etc., Jenny does privately commissioned embroidered portraits. They are as unique as she is and I love them. If you are interested, check out sublimestitching.com to see all the cute patterns you can buy there, or check out jennyhart.net to see her portraits.
