Stuff, stuff, and stuff.
I like stuff. I'm all about the stuff. I've got stuff coming out my ears! Not really. My ears are quite clean. The problem is that my room is not. It's terrible. When I attempt to tidy up, I am actually just shuffling stuff from one place to another. I think of my decorating style as romantic, ecclectic, unique. I am definitely not a minimalist. Stuff. Stuff everywhere. What do I do with my stuff? Any ideas? I am sending out a call to the neat freaks of the world- give Aramie suggestions on organization. When you are faced with a HUGE organizationally challenged space, where do you typically start? Do you have a method that works for you? Share your successes with moi. No verbal assaults, please. Criticism is not my favorite. Thanks!

you and i both know that i'm probably the mot organized person in the world. no, seriously. i think you should find an amoire (sp) somewhere, garage sale or something, and make a cute curtain to hang over the doors (that will probably be missing if you got it at a garage sale) and you could load it up with boxes of stuff that you don't frequently use. and you do have a fantastic romantic decorating style.
i like to look in magazines and recieve inspiration. I know that it can be overwhelming at times ecspecially when it is not entirely your own space. I just redid my kitchen and family room. I painted and all. But it all started with me going to a great decorating store and picking a couple of things that I loved and recieved the motivation to go home and redo everything. I went from mint green walls to deep brown and Ivory. Way different and now I don't want to leave the space. Start small and do a little everyday. I hope you are doing good otherwise. I miss you.
If you could see my apartment you would see that me and you are in the same shoes. My poor little apartment has stuff everywhere! There is NO place to store anything here so it is all over my house. Every nuck and cranie is full! I'm curious to see who responds and what advice they have.....I'll check back.
P.S. The felt stuff you can view at www.storytimefelts.com It is just all kinds of things that are felt and quite (great for church). They have some really cute dress up felt dolls (like paper dolls). If only I had a girl!
P.P.S. I wish you lived closer too. My husband is never home and I'm ALMOST a single mom too. And I could use a friend right now, I'm feeling a bit lonely!! So can you just move out here and solve all my problems????? LOL It sure would be fun!
My darlin' sister, I'm going to completely honest with: get rid of it!!! You sit down and decide if it's something you've used in the last year. If not, sell it (Christmas is coming, I want something expensive from you). If you're going to use it, I like Hil's idea.
Think to yourself "If this was gone would I even realize it?"
Listen to Haley.
I am in the same boat, and I've recently been reading a book called Apartment Therapy: The Eight-Step Home Cure. I don't live in an apartment, and I might not be able to do everything the book suggests, but it's a fairly short read that has inspired me to de-clutter and spruce up my surroundings.
As to your question on my blog: Yes, Harvey Gene Smith is a familey name.
Harvey- Leslie's maiden name
Gene- My grandpa's name
Smith- The only cool name that poor kid has
They've started calling him LC (Lil' Captain), apperantly he's destined to be the next white rapping superstar.
i myself have the same problem, so i obviously cannot help! Have a yard sale!!!!! Yes the deer had 8 points on its antlers, thats why they call it an 8 point. I have to endure UFC, because harrison loves it! we are watching a fight tonight as a matter of fact. the things you do for love! lol
