All the leaves are brown, and yes, the sky is gray.

Correction- all the leaves are not brown. They are, in fact, gone. The leaves were here one day, and gone the next. We had a bit of a snow storm last week, though by the next day it too was gone. I wasn't sorry to see it go. If we can keep it at bay for a little longer I will be happy. We have winter here 6 months out of the year and it gets old super fast! As I have said before, the summers and autumns here are so beautiful that I am willing to brave the winters.
Kacey had a wonderful Halloween. They had a party at school, and they made a "witches brew" to drink which Kacey described as obnoxious. I take it she wasn't impressed, though to be fair that is her favorite word lately. Many things have recently been described as obnoxious. She was batgirl, and her best buddy Matt was batman. Halloween costumes have certainly come a long way since I was a kid. Remember the plastic costumes (similar in texture to a plastic table cloth and one size fits most) and the plastic mask with the elastic band stapled on? Now costumes are actually made of cheap fabric, come in a variety of sizes, and if they have a mask it is made of latex. They also cost probably 10 times what our plastic costumes did, so there is the trade-off. Anyway, Matt's costume had built-in muscles. Kacey's didn't. It was bright pink and silver. I have never been into super heroes, so I can't be sure if it truly represents the original batgirl costume. Kacey wouldn't have loved it so much if it weren't bright pink. She's all girl, and I love that about her.
Matt's mom Erin and I took them around the neighborhood. Erin and I are pretty good friends and it was fun. The kids were very polite, and on top of thanking everyone who gave them candy, they also offered up a "happy halloween!" She did me proud, as always.

That's funny you have a friend in the neighborhood named 'Erin' I'm proud of Kacey too. We just gave out candy at Grandma Griffis house and there were so many rude kids. I enjoyed the sweet ones.
