I've been meaning to comment on this for some time, but I keep forgetting. I was somewhat surprised when I took the Jane Austen heroine test and found that I am most like Marianne Dashwood. For one thing I DO NOT play the pianoforte very well. Also, I find it very hard to forgive her for not being in love with Colonel Brandon from their first meeting. Come on, Marianne! He's got the whole package! All Willoughby has going for him are his good looks and charm. He doesn't strike me as the type of guy who will get up with the baby in the middle of the night. Her worst offense is becoming so heart sick over that blackard (see how angry I am? I've started to use my cache of British swear words!) that she nearly dies. Pathetic.
I am thinking of writing a book about surviving divorce as a young LDS mother. I am not a psychiatrist and can't offer any professional advice, but I can offer my own experience. I wish I had a lot of money and some business know-how, because I would also love to open some sort of non-profit organization for women like me. I would offer professional counseling services, attornies who would work for little or no money, child-care services for mothers who are looking for work or going to school. I would offer women like me help getting into school and paying for it. Sometimes I think that people don't know where to start, so they just never do. I've felt like that before. I've been very blessed to have my parents help. They have really saved me. I have a friend at school who is also a single mom. She has no family here. She works at Wal-Mart full time and also goes to school full time. She has a 4-yr. old daughter also. They live in the projects and take the bus or a cab where ever they go because they don't have a car. I just can't imagine doing this alone.

i am Elizabeth Bennett, which is no surprise as she is described as "tremendously attractive." that is obvious. just kidding. i was pleased, though, because she is the only heroine that i am familiar with. having never read anything by Jane Austen, i am a little less cultured than your average girl. but, how many of you have read Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy, huh? or The Very Ugly Bug? oh, Aramie. about buying shoes. you are lucky---you have lovely feet. mine are so repulsive that stores put up those "we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone" signs just so that they don't have to sell me strappy sandals. i love you and i would like your recipe, porfa.
Could you end the war and find the cure to cancer while you're at it? I do think those all sound like admirable goals. You could start a blog about those things. You know they have professional blogs. I don't know, I'm just throwing that out there.
I have faith in you girl, anything you put your mind to you could do! You have a wealth of talents you could share with others. Just go and do!
